I dance in muted storms beneath an endless rain

I press my secrets into folds of bruised shoes unseen

I hide each crack that cleaves my story in between

While they crown her grief and drown me in my rain

I grew to Glass Child shape, formed by childhood’s spectral hold

She stumbles new upon this tortured path I know

Yet I shrink in silence so her anguish gets to show

Afraid to spread my shards into her tender world so cold

I color my wounds dull so her agony glows bright

I swallow my sharp edges, camouflaging cuts so thin

She’s given every echo of her pain on trembling skin

And I fade to a pale whisper in this bitter light

I breathe between two worlds, my sorrow lost in thin air

But words collapse to dust before they bridge our separate seas

I want to offer solace, but fear my balm won't appease

So I bury dawn’s confession deep within the thin air

I cradle every memory of childhood love I lost

She weeps with candid mercy under open skies

I fold my brittle shadows where unspoken sorrow lies

And drift alone in silence, counting all that love has lost

I’ll learn to let my whispered scars find comfort in her gaze

To speak the words I locked inside, though tremors still remain

To mesh my stifled heartbeats with her rhythm in the rain

And bridge the gulfs of quietude that held me in their haze
