To those reading—professors, mentors, fellow creators, family and friends—thank you for engaging with this collection. What you’ll find here is more than a series of assignments and discussion posts from my time at Southern New Hampshire University. This is a living archive of my voice: one shaped by faith, resilience, and a deep commitment to belonging.
Each piece reflects my approach to learning as a sacred act of reclamation. Whether I’m reinterpreting myth through the lens of marginalized identity, designing visual chapbook spreads that pair poetry with ritual, or navigating the emotional terrain of blended family life, I write and create to make space—for myself, for others, and for stories that often go unheard.
My academic work is grounded in:
Creative Resistance: I use mythic figures like Nyx to explore emotional complexity, turning darkness into a site of transformation and grace.
Faith-Rooted Inquiry: Scripture, spiritual practice, and personal testimony shape my analysis and storytelling, offering a lens of compassion and clarity.
Relational Ethics: I approach co-parenting, boundary-setting, and family dynamics with empathy and strategy, modeling how love and accountability can coexist.
Multimedia Expression: From spoken word to visual design, I integrate form and feeling to create immersive, healing experiences.
Community Dialogue: My discussion board posts often serve as invitations—sparking reflection, connection, and shared vulnerability among peers.
This portfolio is not just a record of what I’ve done—it’s a reflection of who I’m becoming. I hope it speaks to the kind of collaborator, advocate, and creator I strive to be: one who meets complexity with grace, and who builds bridges where others see walls.
Thank you for witnessing this journey.
Warmly,
Jasmine Padgett
